At fourteen years old, Topaz Tylers thought he had it all. He had loving parents and his best friend Juliet. He would've given anything to make Juliet happy. Killed after an act of chivalry, Topaz is thrown into a world he never dreamed existed, much less understands. He struggles with his new power and the fact Juliet fears him for what he is.
Forced to give him up, his parents put him in a foster home. After he begins to adjust, tragedy strikes and Topaz meets Aubrey Asher. The two become fast friends. Alex, Aubrey's brother, is another matter. Topaz can't stand him so why he agrees to go on a trip to Hell to save the older Asher brother is beyond him. Although a trip to Hell is an excellent distraction from the news that the girl he loves most is now a vampire hunter.

This varied slightly from my Goodreads rating. I wanted to reflect that I like this book, that it was more than "ok" which is 4 stars here and 3 on there. There are potentially a couple spoilers in this review as well. You have been warned.This was an interesting read. Many of the characters were strong and well-developed, although I really wanted to know more about Juliet herself since her name was in the title. Just knowing she was rich, beautiful, and Topaz loved her was not enough for me. (And that she later became a Hunter married to a vampire....) I would have liked to see more of her personality in the way she interacted with him when he was human.
The story line itself seemed to drift a bit and the timeline was a bit confusing to follow. It would jar me out of the events happening as I tried to figure out what time period we were in ( 1897, 1922, computers? ... and just how old Juliet would be since she lived to the end of the book.)
However, Ash's characters were strong enough to pull me back in again and she really had two gems that outshined the rest of the book - Topaz's time in the orphanage and his time with the Asher brothers. The ending leaves you hanging slightly, but overall I would probably read this author again.

Juliet Lullaby eBook Ash Night Reviews
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. At first I felt life it really had no storyline but as the book went on I began to see what the true storyline was. I believe Ash to be a new author and as so I think she did a good job in this book. It takes different twists to paranormal books than I've ever read, which is not a bad thing. I think it keeps things interesting. Keep up the good work, I'll be reading more of your work soon.
First book from this writer, was a complete surprise as had not checked the blurb before I got the book as a gift.
I loved the idea of a young guy falling in love and seeing in the book how the love changes and how he's forced to grow in more than one way.
Some open threads stay in the story, but nothing that would need answering for real. I loved the change from the books I use to read, and the supernatural was a nice extra touch.
I am giving a two star rating because I think there is a lot of room for improvement and the chance for this aspiring writer to become better. That being said, I couldn't read the book for a couple different reasons.
First, there was an apparent lack of any college coursework for writing. I would highly recommend at least enrolling in some college courses if not pursuing an actual degree in writing. The sentence structure and grammatical accuracy was nonexistent which was my main reason for not being able to read the book. The story didn't flow and the writing was very blockish.
Secondly, with the pages that I was able to read through the grammatical errors, I had no idea what was going on as the story lacked any actual story line. I would also suggest studying up on how to create a hook.
